Cheap Neckties Are Not All Made Cheaply
By Jackie Burns
We all want to look good without breaking the bank. Sometimes when price is the determining factor, we end up purchasing clothing and accessories that are not the best made and break down quickly after a few uses. So what does it mean to buy cheap and how can a person buy quality neckwear for their wardrobe without cringing when the credit card bill arrives? Definition of the Word Cheap According to the American Heritage Dictionary the word cheap means “relatively low in cost, inexpensive”, although it can also mean “of poor quality” and “worth more than the price”. The phrase “you get what you pay for” often comes to mind as there is often a direct correlation between price and quality. I’d like to turn to those ties which are worth every penny. Vintage Designer Neckties If you are willing to go vintage, a whole array of expensive men’s designer ties suddenly become affordable. There is no reason to spend up to $300 for one very well made necktie, be it a Hermes, Versace, Dolce Punta, Robert Talbott, Gucci, or any number of high end neckties available on the market today. As with other used items, vintage neckwear often sells for a fraction of its original cost. Taking Cost Out of the Equation People buy neckwear for a variety of reasons, sometimes for utilitarian reasons, other times to provide just the right finishing touch to their outfit. When price is no longer a factor to the decision making process, a person can concentrate on what really matters – finding an accessory that reflects their personality. Vintage designer ties are the answer to well crafted neckwear at discounted prices, where a person no longer has to sacrifice quality to look their best.
