Get paid to search (And the catch)
For those of you who read the title and can't wait to find another way to earn online, click here. If however, you are the type who investigates everything before you join a site, read on. My Homepages Friends, formerly known as Mysearchfunds, is a paid to search service powered by the Yahoo search engine. You are paid in British pounds (usually 1 cent for every search made) and you get paid a percentage of the searches for up to 3 levels of referrals under you, 10% for the first level, 5% for the second and 2.5% for the third. There is no need to download anything of any sort from the site. And my research has shown that the site does have a history of payment. Now that I have listed everything positive about the site, let's move on to those areas of the site that just leave me with that vague unease, that feeling that although everything seems alright and there's no place where I can point to and say "Ah-ha, this is a site to avoid.", yet something is just not right. First the name change. Why the name change? My research didn't manage to uncover anything about the name change but My Search Funds clearly identifies more with what the site is about than the current name. Now from the best of my experience, sites that undergo a voluntary name change WILL ALWAYS pick one that best relates to what they are as a business. Picking one that is not suggests two things 1) It's not voluntary. 2) Bad business management. Both of which aren't exactly good news to a user. Next, it seems that they have not worked out all the kinks in their customer support department yet. They currently have a backlog for emails and while they do state quite clearly that payments for a given month will arrive 45 days later, it would seem that the company appears to be understaffed, as 45 days for processing payment does seem quite long to me. So, while I have to say that My Homepages Friends is a paid to search company that does make out payments (for now), I still have my reservations about the company. If you are still interested to join, you can click here. |
