Your credit report details your credit history. Individuals who feel that their credit score is incorrect need to check for miscalculations in their credit report. You can then contact the top credit reference agency in your country and discuss any particulars that seem untrue or false.

The report is dedicated to helping people get their credit reports, determine and understand their credit scores, prevent identity theft and control the economic aspects of a major life changing situation.

However, in reality information is flowing in and out of your credit report all the time based on applications for home and auto loans, payments, an address change or even an inquiry from a prospective creditor all show up on your credit report and these are the things that affect your credit score.

Remember your credit score is calculated based on the information in your credit report. When you order your credit report, you will also receive your current credit score as well as an analysis of the factors affecting your score.

A credit history or credit report is in many countries, a record of an individual's or companies past borrowing and repaying profile, including information about late payments and bankruptcy.

However, scientifically researched studies have concluded that the majority of the data in credit reports are very accurate. The credit bureaus point to their own study of 52 million credit reports to highlight that the data in those reports were very accurate.

If a consumer disputes some information in a credit report, the credit bureau has 30 days to verify the data. However, lenders make credit granting decisions based on both ability to repay a debt (income) and willingness (the credit report) as indicated in the past payment history. A credit counseling agency, with the client's permission, can obtain a client's credit report with no adverse action.

A consumer can check his or her own credit report without impacting creditworthiness. Lenders, when granted a permissible purpose, as defined by the fair credit reporting act, can "pull" a consumer file for the purposes of extending credit to a consumer.

There are many businesses that aim to make money by providing services to consumers to check their credit reports and confirm the information in them, but the law requires that the three major credit reporting agencies (Experian, Equifax, and Transunion) provide a copy of the credit reports for any consumer that requests it, once per year.

So, what’s it going be? Are you going to ignore your situation and keep getting turned down for credit or are you going to get help?

Thank you for the valuable information, Mark.
One of the biggest assets we have is our credit rating. Yet, many people don't seem to realize how fragile it is and how quickly our credit rating can be destroyed.
Keep up the good work.
