Recommended Heat Transfer Products

By Kani Oglee

When my company asked me to research which of the different heat transfer products we needed to purchase, I was utterly at a loss. I did not know anything about these products. When I started looking into the different products, I was thoroughly surprised to learn that there were so many different heat transfer products on the market today.

There are heat transfer products that apply t-shirt designs. There are units for working with metals, and there are products for heating your house. There are so many different products that it could even confuse the most seasoned shopper. I know this because I became so confused that I was ready to give up. Instead of giving up, I decided to find out more about heat transfer products. Better yet, what is heat transfer? These were the questions that I wanted answered, or at least try to understand.

I soon found out that heat transfer refers to the thermal energy being transferred from a hotter object or fluid to a cooler object or fluid. This also occurs when a core object is a different temperature from the surrounding objects. The transfer of thermal energy is what is commonly known as heat transfer or exchange. The heat transfer always occurs from a hotter object to a cooler object. Now that I understand more about how heat transfer products work, I felt more comfortable providing a recommendation.

After some research, I now a clear understanding of the differences between purchasing a sanitary plate heat exchanger, brazed plate heat exchangers, accu-therm plate heat exchanger or a temp plate heat transfer surface. Taking the time to educate myself on the different heat transfer products has enabled me to have more confidence when talking to the different reps, and making a recommendation to management.
