society's moral degredation

Now the first thing I'm going to talk about here is people's behavior on the internet. It seems lately people have been using the internet as a way to lash out at those weaker then them (or who they perceive as being weaker anyway) in a pathetic attempt at making themselves feel better. This has GOT to stop. There are real people that are being hurt by this. What ever happened to the days of treating others the way you wish to be treated?

The next thing I need talk about here is the people who seem to think it is ok to solicit people for sex on the internet. Last time I checked prostitution is still illegal folks. Yet men AND women alike seem to think it is ok to manipulate a person into having sex with them in exchange for something they need or want. What is WRONG with people these days when they start to believe that using sex as a tool to get what you want is acceptable? I have run into this kind of behavior from people more times than I can even count. It makes me sick to my stomach the way some people behave on here. In most cases when men have tried to solicit me for sex, they never even asked me how old I was. what if they had been talking to a young child? It didn't seem that thought even crossed their mind in their relentless pursuit of sex. This is not only dangerous for the people trying to GET laid, but for those who are coming in contact with these people. What if the person talking to one of these guys was your daughter? How would you feel then? makes you a little nauseous to think about it doesn't it? I could post numerous conversations I have had with men on line that would make your jaw drop with the audacity of it all.

Now the next subject I would like to bring to light here is the way society has taken all the rights away from the parents and given it all to the children. You can NOT give that kind of freedom to a child. They take complete advantage of it. Children need something to fear for their bad behavior. Without any rules or structure the child becomes defiant and uncontrollable. They begin to believe that THEY are the ones in charge and the parent is just there to hang out. Parents are no longer respected by the children any more. Parents are too afraid to discipline their children because they fear that the state will get involved if they do, and when they DON'T discipline them, they get in trouble anyway for neglect. it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. This is NO way to structure a family. It is no WONDER why we have such a high rate of divorce these days if the parent is forced to go through this kind of stress on a regular basis. I had a friend who's son got mad at him because he grounded him when he took off after being told it was too late to go outside, and decided to tell everyone he knew that his father stuck him with a knife. Of course there was not a mark on the child, but the point is, this person went through HELL in the court system over a LIE that a child told just because he was mad. We can NOT give our children this kind of power because the children are our future and if they grow up not respecting ANYTHING, what kind of future is that going to give us? Think about it people! Don't get me wrong, I am against child abuse and I believe there is an obvious line one should not cross when disciplining your child, but YES I believe we should be able to spank a child. I don't believe you should beat the child, but a good spanking never hurt any kid. It teaches them respect, and gives them something to fear as a repercussion for their actions. Without this they learn they can get away with anything and therefor have no respect for anything.

I would have thought this is common sense kind of stuff, but the more I talk to people, the more I see that the majority of people seem to LACK this particular trait, and it has become a great concern to me. We as a people need to begin making some changes in the way we behave or our future is going to crumble to dust before we know it. Stand up to this kind of behavior and help put our society back on a GOOD moral path again. Because if we don't, it will only continue to get worse.
